Join author Denise Zubizarreta at Books on the Bosque in Albuquerque on Friday, October 2, at 5:30 p.m. for Unlearning the Empire: An Evening with Denise Zubizarreta.
Through a reading from her book, Colonial Stockholm Syndrome, Denise will explore how colonial histories continue to influence culture, identity, belonging, and the ways we understand ourselves and one another. The evening will invite a thoughtful conversation about inherited narratives, internalized systems, and what it means to examine—and reclaim—the stories that shape our lives.
The event will include an author reading, audience discussion, and book signing. Copies of Colonial Stockholm Syndrome will be available for purchase from Books on the Bosque.
Guests who have not yet purchased the book are encouraged to buy their copies at the event to support this independent Albuquerque bookstore. Denise will sign copies following the conversation.
